What does “selected bibliography” mean?

I know what a bibliography is, but some books list a “selected bibliography”. Does this mean they are only listing some of their sources? What sources should be omitted when creating a selected bibliography?

Sure, only some is included I guess.

What is omitted? Well, say I might read 3 full books on the subject. I also learn a couple things by scanning a little of a Library Book or website. Those first 3 books I would include in my selected bibliography. I think. I did the best I could… good luck.
